The tanks can hold any type of substance (diesel, gasoline, resins, acids, solvents etc.) and are of different types (underground, wall, double wall etc.). The presence of thousands of underground tanks is a significant environmental threat: surveys conducted in recent years have shown the presence of pollution from hydrocarbons and organic solvents in soils and groundwater.
